Bowling news, the latest from our blog, top new alleys and leagues — delivered every Sunday.
What a week for bowling! We had a rookie's dream performance on the PBA Tour, some high-stakes doubles action brewing in Maine, and a massive update to our alley database. Plus, we found this week's top-rated new spot that's got bowlers raving.
🎳 On the Lanes
Austin Grammar just made his mark in a big way, capturing his first career PBA Tour title at the Surfside PBA New York Classic with a near-perfect 299 game in the championship match. The 23-year-old rookie from Ohio demolished Kris Prather 299-234 to join Brandon Bonta and Spencer Robarge as first-year players to win titles this season. That 299 was bowling "really, really well" as Prather put it — and it had to be to beat a veteran like Kris when he's locked in.
Meanwhile, the Owen's Craft Mixers PBA Roth/Holman Doubles Championship finals are set for Sunday at Bayside Bowl in Portland, Maine. Four teams remain: Eric Jones/Deo Benard vs. Sean/Anthony Lavery-Spahr in one semi, and Ethan Fiore/Santtu Tahvanainen vs. Zach Wilkins/AJ Chapman in the other. The Race-to-Two championship airs live on The CW at 4 p.m. ET.
📣 Industry News
The college bowling scene wrapped up with some impressive performances at the 2026 Intercollegiate Team and Singles Championships in Green Bay. Jacksonville State's women and St. Ambrose men secured team titles, while Tyler Close (St. Ambrose) and Dannielle Henderson (Vanderbilt) took individual honors.
On the PBA50 front, Danny Wiseman showed that experience never goes out of style, winning his first title in over a decade at The Villages Classic. The Hall of Famer averaged 256 across his three stepladder finals matches, proving he can still adapt and dominate when it counts.
📍 New on BAiO
We had a busy week adding 50 new bowling alleys to the platform, with Ohio getting the lion's share of love. Here are some highlights: Alexandria's | Bar | Restaurant | Event Venue in Findlay, OH, RollHouse Dayton in Huber Heights, OH, Dragon Lanes in Marysville, OH, Pins Mechanical Co. in Dayton, OH, and Hi-Way Lanes in Franklin, IN.
📊 Stat of the Week
This week's top-rated new addition is Rich Lanes & 10 Pin Tavern in Fairport Harbor, OH, sporting an impressive 4.9/5 Google rating with 264 reviews. When you see a 4.9 backed by that many reviews, you know this isn't just new-alley hype — people genuinely love bowling here. That kind of consistency across hundreds of visits means they're doing something very right.
